Trust your price instinct.
Every round shows two objects. Choose the one with the higher source price in US dollars. Read the exact model, size, quantity, price type and year before you choose. Photographs help identify each object. The exact model, configuration and written description define the comparison.
Endless: keep your streak alive
There is no time limit in solo play. A correct choice adds one to your streak. A wrong choice ends the run after you see the reveal. Start again to beat your personal best, or choose one of our seven categories. Switching categories starts a fresh run.
Daily: ten shared comparisons
All players see the same ten pairs for a given UTC day. You can miss a round and keep playing to the end. Your score is the number of correct answers out of ten. Each browser records one daily attempt and saves your progress locally. Reopening an unfinished challenge resumes at the next unanswered round. Clearing browser storage or using a different browser removes that local record; this is a casual challenge rather than a verified global ranking.
The challenge resets at midnight UTC. The share grid shows green for correct picks and red for misses. It does not show the objects, choices or prices.
Friends: a live 1v1 price duel
- The host creates a room and chooses a category.
- The host shares the room link or six-character code.
- A friend joins using a nickname and presses Ready.
- The host starts the duel. A shared countdown appears before round one.
- Both players choose between the same two objects within 12 seconds.
- Answers stay hidden from the opponent until both are locked or the time expires.
- A reveal appears on both screens, then the next round starts automatically.
Scoring: a correct choice earns 1,000 points plus a speed bonus of up to 100. A wrong answer or a timeout earns zero. The bonus decreases as time passes. Because a match has only ten rounds, a player with one more correct answer always beats a player with fewer correct answers. If correct-answer totals match, the speed bonuses decide the winner. Identical scores produce a draw.
The server controls deadlines and scores. The match keeps moving if someone switches tabs or loses their connection. Return to the same room on the same browser to reconnect while the room is valid. A rematch reuses the lobby and asks the guest to confirm Ready again. Rooms expire 24 hours after creation.
What the price labels mean
Retail snapshot: the source’s listed price when our catalog was checked. Launch price: the US manufacturer price at a product’s original launch. Auction result: the reported sale total of one particular lot; its edition, condition and provenance matter. Announced price: an original manufacturer announcement. A later discount, auction or product revision may have a different amount.
Keyboard and accessibility
Use Tab to reach each choice, then Enter or Space to select it. When focus is on the page, the left and right arrow keys choose the corresponding card. After a solo reveal, Enter advances to the next step. Sounds are optional and muted by default. The labels and symbols communicate results without relying only on color. The interface respects reduced-motion preferences.
